Review by Anonymous 8th grader: This story takes place in a fictional place named Gatlon City. The main character is Nova, AKA Nightmare, who witnessed her parents murder when she was only 6 years old.  She was then raised by her uncle, Ace Anarchy, who is the leader of the Anarchists, a rebel gang who convinced Nova that the Renegades who rule Gatlon City, are responsible for her parent’s deaths.  Ace also helps Nova discover her special abilities which her father kept hidden from her.

The book also follows Adrian, AKA Sketch, who is a member of Renegades.  He also lost his mom when he was young and has been raised by the leaders of the Renegades.  His powers are that anything he draws comes to life.

Nova and Adrian are forced to work together when her assignment is to go undercover and enter a competition to become a Renegade.  Adrian is selects her to be on his team.  Now that Nova is a Renegade will she learn to fight for justice or get the vengeance she’s dedicated her life to even though it could hurt her new friends.
