Mrs. A's rating
In Mare Barrow's world, people are divided into two categories.  Those who have silver blood are rich, royal, or often gifted with special abilities. Then there are the Reds, like herself, who are considered second-class citizens and have to work and live in poverty.  A chance encounter with a generous young man, results in 17 year-old Mare being sent to work for the royal family at the palace, and it is there where it is discovered that she has a gift herself.  The king and queen don't want others to find out that it is possible for a Red to have powers, so they pass her off as the long lost daughter of a Silver war hero and even announce Mare's engagement to their second-born son, a prince. In the midst of a revolution, Mare realizes that she can trust no one but herself. Lots of plot twists in this one, and enough loose ends for a sequel that will surely come soon.
