The year is 1878 in London and sixteen-year-old Tessa discovers that not only is she not human, but that she possesss a magical ability to shape-shift.  She soon finds herself surrounded by demons, warlocks, vampires, and most importantly, shadow hunters.  Tessa is captured and will be forced to marry the Magister unless she can escape and find her brother Nate. This book has romance, action, and comedy as well as courageous characters.  Cassandra Clare's fans will not be dissappointed.
